OverviewThe General Dentist plays a vital role in delivering high-quality dental care to the community.
As part of our dynamic team, you will work collaboratively to achieve our goal of providing comprehensive and cost-effective healthcare services.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough examinations of patients, diagnose oral health conditions, and provide or direct dental/oral treatment as needed.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including documenting all interactions, diagnoses, and treatments provided.
- Educate patients on oral health-related conditions and promote general oral health disease prevention.
- Participate in center committees and serve on the dental staff as assigned.
- Prepare reports as requested by the Chief Dental Officer and assist with continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation of center staff.
- Develop and implement dental department policies, protocols, and procedures in compliance with current professional standards.
- Provide technical assistance and health education to the community as needed.
- Collaborate with other programs and services to coordinate and integrate dental programs and services for the benefit of our patients.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, local, and center rules, regulations, and protocols governing the practice of dentistry and clinical provision of dental care.
- Graduation from an accredited dental school is required.
- A general practice residency program completion is preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
- Knowledge of public health principles and practices is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required.
- Clinical privileges must be maintained, hospital privileges are preferred.
- FTCA coverage or private professional malpractice insurance is obtainable.
- Licensure and Credentials:
- Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in New Jersey.
- Current CPR (BLS) certifications; ACLS is preferred.
- New Jersey CDS and DEA registrations.
- Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers.
