Job Description:

Dental Care Professional

The Dental Care Professional is responsible for delivering high-quality dental care services to patients. This includes examining individuals, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing treatment.

The role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A strong commitment to patient care and a focus on providing exceptional service are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Examine individuals requesting care and diagnose their dental/oral conditions
  • Prescribe and carry out, or direct others in carrying out, appropriate dental/oral treatment
  • Record patient-dentist transactions in the patient's dental record
  • Educate individuals in oral health-related conditions and promote disease prevention
  • Participate in short- and long-term program planning for the Dental Department
  • Provide consultation to the CEO and Board of Directors regarding dental and oral health issues
  • Travel when necessary to fulfill Medical Center needs and attend meetings to represent the Medical Center
  • Assist in the coordination and integration of dental programs and services with other programs and services for patient welfare

Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school
  • Completion of an accredited general practice residency program preferred
  • Ability to be clinically fluent in Spanish preferred
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to maintain clinical privileges required, hospital privileges preferred
  • Licensure and credentials required
  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in New Jersey required
  • CPR (BLS) certifications required, ACLS preferred
  • New Jersey CDS and DEA registrations required
  • Medicare and Medicaid provider numbers required
