Research Chemist

The School of Chemistry at a prestigious Australian university is internationally recognised for its excellence in research and teaching. As a Research Chemist, you will contribute to an ARC-funded Discovery Project focused on synthesising and characterising novel organic and organometallic molecular wires.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced research in organometallic and organic chemistry, and molecular electronics
  • Perform and supervise chemical syntheses using cutting-edge techniques
  • Characterise products of synthesis and study their properties using state-of-the-art equipment
  • Write and maintain accurate laboratory notebooks documenting experiments and results
  • Present findings at national and international conferences showcasing expertise in the field
About You
  • You hold a PhD or equivalent in inorganic or organic chemistry with expertise in organometallic chemistry and molecular electronics
  • You have experience with air-free synthesis, NMR spectroscopy, and pi-conjugated molecules, as well as programming skills in relevant software
  • You are committed to proactively keeping up-to-date with discipline knowledge and developments, staying at the forefront of advancements in your field
