Research Scientist in Microbial Physiology

The Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative technologies in mathematical biology.

This role involves conducting comprehensive biochemical and molecular biology analysis of microbial physiology and dynamics, engaging in genetic engineering, designing and deploying biochemical assays, and utilizing high-throughput phenotyping techniques.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting detailed biochemical and molecular biology analysis of microbial physiology and dynamics
  • Participating in the genetic engineering of bacteria
  • Designing and implementing biochemical assays
  • Utilizing high-throughput phenotyping techniques for bacterial cells
  • Performing transcriptomic, proteomic, and/or metabolomic analyses

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A doctoral qualification in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a closely related field

  • Familiarity with 'omics' level techniques
  • Demonstrated manuscript preparation skills with a track record of impactful research publications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
