About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to join the Thiess maintenance crew at Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex.

Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located in the Bowen Basin region, which commenced mining operations in 2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning, overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul, water management, and rehabilitation, as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.

Working a 5/2/4/3 day shift roster and reporting to the Maintenance Planning Superintendent, your duties will include:

  • Planning the scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs of light vehicles, ancillary fleets, and infrastructure to ensure compliance with all safety and statutory requirements.
  • Maintaining and utilizing the Maintenance Management System to generate planned maintenance and major component repair cost budgets.
  • Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure that all parts and materials required to effect repairs/services are available at the scheduled times.
  • Monitoring and maintaining the known work list Defect Reporting System and the on-site Condition Analysis Systems to ensure information is used to update the maintenance and service schedules.
  • Minimizing plant costs through continually investigating alternative suppliers for competitive pricing.
  • Responsibility for the short and medium-term maintenance scheduling and planning for our Light Vehicle, Ancillary equipment, and Infrastructure to maximize fleet availability and optimize the productivity of the operation.

About You

  • Relevant Trade or Tertiary Qualifications.
  • Fleet management experience and detailed knowledge of maintenance on a variety of equipment, preferably within the mining sector.
  • Proven knowledge of light vehicles, ancillary, and infrastructure type equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining Toyota, Scania, Volvo, and various other types of equipment.
  • Competence in computer-based maintenance systems and Microsoft Office (Project, Word, and Excel).
