Job Description

The City of Boroondara seeks a skilled and experienced Economic Development Manager to join its team. As a key member of the Economic Development team, you will play a vital role in driving initiatives that boost the economic vitality of the city's shopping centres and local small businesses.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and organized individual to take on a senior project management role. You will be responsible for delivering and supporting a range of initiatives, including trader association liaison, support and facilitation of meetings, oversight of grants programs, and implementation of special rate and charge schemes. You will also work closely with the Economic Development Lead to ensure the effective functioning of the team and delivery of the Economic Development Strategy actions and core programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver and support a suite of initiatives to drive economic growth and development
* Liaise with trader associations, state and federal government authorities, local businesses, and residents
* Manage complex customer-facing projects and stakeholder engagement
* Provide leadership and support to a small team of direct reports

Required Skills and Qualifications
* A relevant tertiary qualification or significant experience in the economic development sector or a related field
* Strong project management and leadership skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
