Job Title: Transparency Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional to handle requests for documents under the Freedom of Information Act. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with applicants to assist them in seeking documents;
  • Conducting thorough searches for requested documents;
  • Identifying exempt material within requested documents and explaining reasons for decisions;
  • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports for senior executives and regulatory bodies.
About the Role

The purpose of this position is to provide expert support in handling FOI requests, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and maintaining high standards of transparency and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication and coordination abilities, and experience working in an agile environment. You will need to demonstrate:

  • Ability to assess documents and identify exempt material;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills, including time management and data reporting requirements;
  • A high standard of attention to detail and sound judgement.
