Research Contracts Officer

As a key member of the UniSA Research Office team, you will be responsible for providing strategic review, interpretation, and advice on research funding agreements and associated legislative requirements. You will work closely with various stakeholders, including professional service areas, granting agencies, partner research organizations, industry partners, and researchers, to minimize risk and ensure consistent contract provisions.
About the UniSA Research OfficeThe UniSA Research Office provides support for the management of research and administers sponsored research projects, contract research, and consultancy agreements. The office is responsible for ensuring the responsible and ethical conduct of research and developing strategic initiatives to improve the quality of the experience and outcomes for postgraduate research students.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic review, interpretation, and advice on research funding agreements and associated legislative requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to minimize risk and ensure consistent contract provisions.
- Collaborate with the Research Contracts Team to support the core functions of the UniSA Research Office.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve the quality of research and outcomes for postgraduate research students.
- A tertiary law degree or recognized legal, paralegal, or business qualifications and demonstrated relevant expertise in legal review and advice, drafting, negotiating, administering, and advising on contracts.
- A good working knowledge of contract law and commercial contracting with demonstrated ability to critique legal documents and provide feedback to key stakeholders.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Ability to apply initiative, judgment, and problem-solving skills in contracting in the research context.
- Well-developed skills in time management, priority setting, ongoing communication, and organization, with exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
