St Hilda's School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for girls, located on the Gold Coast. The school has a long history of outstanding academic achievement, based on strong Anglican Christian values.

The School Psychologist will play a vital role in supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students. Working in alignment with the Counselling Policy, you will provide psychological support and counselling to individual students and groups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counselling to students and their families experiencing social, emotional, physical or academic concerns
  • Conduct assessments of student needs and devise strategies to enhance welfare and education outcomes for students
  • Liaise with staff to ensure holistic support for students and devise preventative mental health programs
  • Assess risks and develop strategies for safety
  • Refer students to external health professionals as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and files

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications at Degree level in psychology with post-graduate qualifications in educational psychology, child and adolescent psychology, student counselling or school psychology desirable
  • Experience working in a school environment, with adolescents or liaising with schools an advantage
  • Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Current First Aid and Mental Health First Aid Qualifications
