St Hilda's School is seeking a skilled professional to support the mental health and wellbeing of our students. As a School Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support and counselling to individual students and groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential and non-judgmental counselling services to students and their families experiencing social, emotional, physical or academic concerns
  • Conduct thorough assessments of student needs and develop tailored strategies to enhance welfare and education outcomes
  • Liaise with teachers and school leadership to ensure holistic support for students and design preventative mental health programs
  • Conduct risk and safety assessments and provide referrals to external health professionals when necessary
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files

Mandatory Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Formal qualifications in psychology with post-graduate qualifications in educational psychology or school psychology desirable
  • Experience working in a school environment, particularly with adolescents, an advantage
  • Evidence of general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and Mental Health First Aid qualifications or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required due to the boarding nature of the school
