About the PositionWe seek an experienced and driven Structural Engineer to lead or contribute to the design and delivery of complex multi-storey reinforced and post-tensioned concrete buildings using ETABS and RAM Concept.
Main Responsibilities- Lead or contribute to structural analysis and design of multi-storey RC/PT buildings using ETABS (gravity/lateral systems, P-?, dynamic/modal, wind & seismic to AS/NZS 1170.2/.4)
- Design floor systems in RAM Concept (slab/raft, PT tendons, punching shear, deflection, vibration, staged construction)
- Perform first principles verification (hand checks, simplified models, strut-and-tie, yield line) and peer reviews
- Prepare clear mark-ups, details, and schedules; coordinate closely with Revit drafters to produce accurate and buildable documentation
- Prepare calculations, design reports, briefs, and RFI responses; attend client meetings
- Drive value engineering and constructability outcomes
- Apply Australian codes (NCC, AS 3600, AS/NZS 1170 series; AS 4100 exposure advantageous) and internal QA procedures
- Support tender/D&C phases with options analysis and rapid turnaround studies
- 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience with multi-storey building design in Australia (QLD experience highly regarded)
- Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master's desirable)
- Strong ETABS skills (mandatory); proficiency in RAM Concept (highly regarded)
- Proven ability to take projects from concept through IFC, including model build, load paths, stability checks, and documentation handover
- Strong first principles knowledge and sound engineering judgement
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Melbourne-based candidates open to relocation are welcome to apply
