Deputy Head of Preparatory School

This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a leading College as Deputy Head of Preparatory School – Teaching and Learning. You will be at the heart of the College's academic leadership, guiding a high-performing team of educators across Reception to Year 6.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coach Pedagogical Leaders and Preparatory Teachers to deliver best-practice teaching aligned with the science of learning.
  • Drive curriculum innovation and review cycles, ensuring alignment with the Australian Curriculum and strategic priorities.
  • Oversee assessment, reporting, and data-informed teaching practices to enhance student outcomes.
  • Model exemplary pedagogy to support staff development.
  • Coordinate professional learning, standardised testing, and inclusive education provision.
  • Build strong relationships with staff, students, and families, promoting a culture of trust, collaboration, and shared purpose.

  • Empathetic and inspiring, with a proven ability to build trust and lead teams with positivity and clarity.
  • A Pedagogical expert, with deep knowledge of the science of learning and curriculum design for primary aged students.
  • Strategically minded, with experience in driving school-wide initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Data-savvy, with the ability to analyse student progress and guide responsive teaching.
  • A strong communicator, able to engage effectively with staff, students, and families.
