Head of Primary School

We are seeking an experienced educator to serve in a pivotal leadership role, joining the Senior Leadership Team to advance academic excellence and community wellbeing.

As Head of Primary, you will provide strong leadership across the Primary School, collaborating closely with the Primary School Leadership Team and senior leaders to uphold the school's values and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading and supporting the Primary School Leadership Team to provide clear accountability and strategic direction.
  • Overseeing the recruitment, performance management, and professional development of all Primary School teaching and support staff.
  • Monitoring and promoting student academic progress, wellbeing, and behaviour, implementing pastoral care strategies.
  • Managing key R-6 school events such as graduation ceremonies, parent-teacher nights, sports days, and special celebrations.
  • Participating in the enrolment process, including interviewing prospective families to assess fit.
  • Leading spiritual formation within the Primary School through devotions, chapel services, and collaboration with chaplaincy staff.
  • Maintaining clear communication with staff, students, parents, and the wider community to foster transparency and collaboration.
  • Staying up-to-date with current educational research and best practices to inform curriculum and teaching strategies.
Essential Criteria:
  • A sincere faith in Jesus Christ, demonstrated through involvement in a local church community.
  • A passion for Christian education, with a commitment to integrating a biblical worldview into curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Registered teacher with at least five years of classroom teaching experience.
  • Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RHHAN-EC) certificate.
  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
  • Valid Teachers Registration in South Australia (SA).
Desirable Attributes:
  • At least two years of leadership experience within an educational setting.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in education or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching in a Christian environment.
