Database Management Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our program team and contribute to delivering key objectives.

  • Configure, monitor and maintain SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, indexing, query optimisation and troubleshooting. This involves regular monitoring of database performance to identify potential issues before they impact the system.
  • Implement access controls, encryption and audit trails to ensure data security and compliance with legislation. This includes implementing appropriate user access controls and ensuring that all data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
  • Create and manage backup schedules, ensure reliable data recovery and regularly test restore procedures. This ensures that in the event of a disaster, we can quickly recover our systems and minimize downtime.
  • Write, debug and optimise SQL queries using performance tuning and monitoring tools. This requires a strong understanding of database design and query optimisation techniques.
  • Analyse complex issues and clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. This involves being able to explain technical issues in simple terms and providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Document processes and provide accurate specialist advice, guidance and reporting. This includes maintaining accurate records of all database configurations and documenting any changes made to the database.

Strong numerical and analytical skills are essential for this role. A degree and/or relevant certifications in IT, Computer Science, Data Management or related fields are also required.
