**Role Overview**
CareSouth is a community based organisation with a dynamic and bold vision to make a difference in the lives of children, young people, adults and communities. We are seeking a casual Supervised Contact Worker to join our team on a part-time basis.
The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the positive connection between a child and their family, and will have experience working with children and young people. They will be able to provide high quality supervision for visits between children and/or young persons in care and their families, ensuring that the child's best interests are protected during contact.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide high quality supervision for visits between children and/or young persons in care and their families.
- Ensure that the child's best interests are protected during contact.
- Facilitate a safe and constructive contact visit comprising of positive interactions between the parent/participant and child/children in order to build their relationship.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- Demonstrated commitment to the safety of children, young people and people with a disability.
- Tertiary qualification or working towards in a relevant discipline e.g. social welfare, psychology, education counselling etc.
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Excellent observational and report writing skills.
- Understanding of child protection and mandatory reporting requirements.
- Sound knowledge of child development.
