Job Title: Deputy State Manager

The role of Deputy State Manager is a key leadership position that oversees the operations of cancer centres across the state.

This executive leadership role drives operational excellence and strategic growth by leading teams to ensure high-quality, patient-centred care while achieving financial and performance targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Culture: Inspire and guide multidisciplinary teams; foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Operational & Financial Management: Oversee financial performance and drive efficiency across services; contribute to strategic planning and project execution.
  • Business Development & Growth: Build and maintain strategic relationships with medical professionals and stakeholders; lead business development initiatives and partnerships to support service expansion and innovation.
  • Quality & Service Excellence: Champion patient-centred care and uphold regulatory standards; drive quality improvement initiatives and operational enhancements.
  • Project Leadership: Manage key development projects aligned with strategic goals; identify and implement opportunities for growth and service innovation.
About You
  • You will need at least 3 years' senior leadership experience in healthcare (oncology or private sector preferred).
  • A strong understanding of cancer care delivery models and health sector funding is essential.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic decision-making skills are required.
  • You must be able to lead teams and manage complex operations.
  • You will also need a sound understanding of healthcare compliance and quality frameworks.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills are necessary.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health or business (postgraduate preferred) are highly valued.
  • A commitment to innovation, excellence, and continuous learning is expected.
