Environmental Coordinator

We are seeking an individual to play a key role in ensuring day-to-day compliance with environmental specifications, legislation, approvals, and other relevant environmental requirements on our Eyre Peninsula Desalination Plant project in Port Lincoln.

About the Project:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a major infrastructure project that aligns with our commitment to economic, environmental, and social progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of environmental management measures as defined by our Environmental Management Plan, contractual and legislative requirements.
  • Participate in project planning and risk assessment activities to identify and control environmental risks and opportunities.
  • Assist with identification and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
  • Support the planning, inspection, and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risks such as erosion & sediment control, vegetation clearing, night works, heritage protection, and contamination management.
  • Conduct regular environmental inspections and monitoring requirements as defined in our Environmental Management Plans (i.e., noise, vibration, water, and air quality, biodiversity, etc.).
  • Monitor supplier performance against environment and sustainability requirements.
Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Ideal tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in inspection and monitoring of construction activities linked to environmental constraints/risks.
  • Experience in marine ecology would be highly beneficial.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office suite of desktop applications and related software packages, with proficiency in Excel a must.
