Job Title: Dental Assistant

The role of a dental assistant is to provide support to dentists and hygienists in delivering quality patient care. This includes assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of the dental surgery environment.

">About The Role:">
  • This is a fixed-term, full-time maternity leave contract working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

As a dental assistant, you will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to the dentist/hygienist, including preparation and organization of equipment and materials, taking impressions and photographs, and sterilizing instruments.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Provide exceptional patient care and ensure their comfort and well-being throughout treatment.
  • Assist the dentist/hygienist with clinical procedures, such as preparing patients for treatment, mixing medications, and administering local anesthetics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and efficiency of the dental surgery environment, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and surfaces, restocking supplies, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors, responding to queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
">Required Skills and Qualifications:">
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognized equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years (full-time equivalent) experience within the last 5 years.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality care to patients.
