
Patient Care Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team on a casual basis, providing support across multiple hospital departments. In this rewarding role, you will play an important part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while helping to maintain the smooth operation of the hospital. It is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Certificate III in Aged Care or Health Services who is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Support clinical teams by monitoring vital signs, assisting with ECGs, and maintaining accurate observations.
- Contribute to a safe and welcoming environment, prioritising patient wellbeing and comfort at all times.
- Assist clinical staff in providing high-quality care and patient support.
- Provide transport services using hospital-approved equipment and vehicles.
- Assist patients on admission and help them settle comfortably.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in patient rooms and shared areas in line with infection control standards.
You thrive in a busy hospital setting, are able to adapt quickly to changing demands, and consistently uphold high standards of service and professionalism.
To be Successful, You Will Have- Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services, or Care Support (desirable).
- Experience working in a clinical hospital setting.
- Strong understanding of infection control, manual handling, and hospital safety procedures.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Currently studying Nursing (Year 2 or 3).
- Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance.
