Job Overview

The Senior Building Advisor plays a pivotal role in providing expert advice and support throughout the planning, design, construction, and maintenance phases of building projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist guidance on building asset systems, policies, and practices to ensure consistent services across educational institutions.
  • Manage project consultancy and team coordination for school capital works and facilities management initiatives.
  • Develop effective relationships with Principals, school communities, and external consultants to facilitate project delivery and achieve operational outcomes.
  • Manage project budgets and reports, including site visitations and progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety documentation in project tenders and contractors' obligations.
  • Support schools in developing and reviewing five-year maintenance plans and executing maintenance works.
About You:
  • A proven track record in project management and contract administration in the construction environment, with experience advising and influencing client managers in capital works and facilities management projects.
  • Current knowledge of construction industry developments and statutory provisions and regulations, with the ability to lead a variety of projects to meet operational outcomes and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Conducted high-level reviews and investigations linked to organisational performance, and prepared written specialist reports and committee papers on projects led.
  • Worked with multiple stakeholders and leadership teams in your area of specialty, with the ability to communicate effectively and build strong working relationships.
Requirements:
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for working with Children is required.
  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
