Job Opportunity: Early Intervention Specialist

The Early Intervention Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting workers who have suffered injuries on the job. This critical position requires strong communication skills, knowledge of legislation, and a deep understanding of the return-to-work process.

This specialist works closely with employers to provide support throughout the claims process, identifying barriers to recovery and implementing strategies to ensure a successful return to work for injured employees.

About the Role:

  • Advising employers and workers on their obligations under the Act
  • Supporting employers in understanding suitable duties and planning for return to work
  • Supporting workers in understanding the return-to-work process
  • Identifying barriers in a worker's recovery and return to work
  • Communicating with third-party providers to gain additional information
  • Engaging different services based on specific circumstances
  • Ongoing communication with employer, worker, and claims assessor during the claim assessment period
  • Providing a handover to case manager if liability is accepted

Key Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the worker's compensation claims process and legislation
  • Understanding of the link between early intervention and positive return-to-work outcomes
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in worker's compensation (case management role highly regarded)
  • A rehab background would be helpful for this role (not essential)
  • Ability to influence employers to have ongoing engagement with injured workers
  • Time management and organisational skills
