Project Risk Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Risk Specialist to join our team.

  • About the Role:

    This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to support technology-led projects in our organization, working closely with various Program teams to provide risk management expertise and guidance.

  • Your Key Responsibilities will be:

    1. To identify risks from the outset, evaluate them comprehensively, and track them meticulously to prevent surprises later in the project.
    2. To lead the development and implementation of mitigation strategies to address risks before they escalate, minimizing potential disruptions and negative impacts.
    3. To work closely with project teams, ensuring relevant stakeholders are engaged in the risk management process, including Business Risk Managers with specialized insights into specific risks and controls.
    4. To conduct regular workshops to address emerging risks and ensure the project team remains vigilant, providing a platform for open discussions and enhancing risk awareness across the board.
    5. To document risks to ensure they are not only identified but also tracked and managed effectively.
    6. To assist the program team in creating regular status reports highlighting the current state of delivery risks, ongoing mitigation efforts, and changes in risk assessments.
  • About You:

    We are looking for a candidate with advanced knowledge of technology risk, especially in application and data migrations. Experience in project risk management (Risk in Change) is highly desirable. Managing both delivery and delivered risk in projects is highly desirable.

    A background in computer and/or data science is beneficial. Ability to work with senior stakeholders to enhance risk capability within the organization is essential. Demonstrated ability to produce insightful risk reports generating improvements and driving change is required.

    Experience operating within a three lines of accountability model supporting effective challenge and transparency is preferred. Proven experience building and maintaining stakeholder relationships at a senior level is necessary.

    Relevant tertiary qualifications in business management or risk management are highly regarded. Certifications relevant to technology risk (CRISC, CISA etc) are highly regarded.
