About Us

We are seeking a highly skilled technologist to deliver exceptional support to our customers and community. The successful candidate will have a passion for Linux and open source software, with a strong academic background in Computer Science or a related field.

This role involves working on complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software. You will be responsible for resolving these issues through troubleshooting, bug fixes, and workarounds.

You will participate in upstream communities, collaborate with internal teams, and contribute to the development of bug fixes and patches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Resolve complex customer problems related to Ubuntu, kernel, Ceph, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and other open source software.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Canonical's Field, Support, and product engineering teams.
  • Participate in upstream communities.
  • Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and work with upstream for inclusion.
  • Review code produced by other engineers.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in technical methods and techniques.
  • Prioritize work and manage time effectively against priorities.
  • Participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.
Requirements
  • Exceptional academic track record.
  • Background in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.
  • Experience with Linux and open source software.
  • Experience with at least one programming language such as Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
  • Drive to learn unfamiliar technology and deep-dive difficult issues.
