Job Title:

Payroll Officer

About the Role

The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced payroll professional with a strong background in managing high-volume payrolls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Processing
  1. Prepare weekly and monthly payrolls, including processing new starters, reviewing timesheets, exporting and importing timesheets, and calculating pay adjustments.
  2. Manage Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and ensure timely submission to relevant authorities.
Payroll Advice
  1. Provide expert advice to employees on all payroll-related matters in a timely and effective manner.
  2. Interpret policies, employment agreements, awards, and legislations to ensure compliance.
Payroll Compliance
  1. Calculate Long Service Leave and Termination Pays accurately and efficiently.
  2. Process commission payments and reconcile reimbursements.
  3. Prepare, balance, and reconcile payroll tax, PAYG tax, FBT, superannuation, and income statement.
  4. Balgance all payroll ledger accounts, including posting journals.
Administrative Tasks
  1. Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for payroll activities.
  2. Maintain data integrity of the payroll system and time and attendance system.
  3. Maintain payroll-related records and produce reports as required.
  4. Assist with wage evidence for national training programs.
  5. Support the payroll manager as required.
