Job Title: Womenswear Design Assistant

Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Womenswear Design Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well in a collaborative environment and have a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Womenswear Designer in developing range concepts to ensure quality of apparel is maintained through development and production stages.
  • Attend fittings to ensure continuation of style development process.
  • Work with suppliers to monitor development, availability, lead-time, and costs.
  • Conceptualise monthly storyboards in form of mood and colour.
  • Select trims for the range to be signed off by the Designer, ensuring brand look and values are maintained.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of designs, meetings, and correspondence.
  • Support the development of marketing materials and product information.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Experience working with designers and manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of design software and systems.
  • Basic understanding of textiles and fabrics.
  • Ability to lift 10kg and stand for long periods.
