Job Summary:
Reporting to a Director of Professional Practice, this role is responsible for advancing nursing knowledge and professional practice to ensure evidence-based care. The Clinical Expert will direct and develop advanced nursing practice within the organization and across patient care spectrums.
This position will interact with all levels of multidisciplinary teams, patients, families, and leadership members.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading nursing staff and healthcare teams in evidence-based advanced nursing practice, problem-solving, and change strategies.
- Assisting nursing staff in developing clinical decision-making skills through case consultation, demonstration, and rounds.
- Providing expertise as a resource person for nursing and allied healthcare professionals in achieving patient-focused outcomes.
- Developing program-specific patient/nursing care standards aligned with corporate strategic direction, College of Nurses of Ontario, and specialty association guidelines.
- Leading the development and revision of evidence-based clinical standards and core competencies.
- Modeling the application of standards and nursing philosophy in delivering patient care and education.
- Directing nursing education and professional development programs within the organization.
- Conducting needs assessments for educational requirements and legislated regulations.
- Establishing clinical outcomes of education programs.
Telemetry Experience: Required
Minimum 5 Years Recent Clinical Experience: Required
Minimum 3 Years Patient/Family/Staff Teaching Experience: Preferred
French Language Proficiency: An Asset
Qualifications- Registered Nurse Eligible for Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Bachelor Degree in Nursing: Required; Master's in Nursing: Preferred
- ACLS Required
