Key Leadership Role in Fresh Food Retail

Drakes Supermarkets, a family-owned and operated private company, and Australia's largest independently-owned supermarket chain, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead our fresh food retail team.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to manage the department as if it were their own business, with the flexibility to tailor the stores' service and products offering to meet the specific needs of the customers within the local area.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective fresh food retail strategies to drive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Lead and manage a team of staff to achieve high levels of customer service and product knowledge
  • Order and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste
  • Monitor and control costs to achieve budget targets
  • Collaborate with management to achieve business objectives and improve operational efficiency
  • Coach, train, and performance manage staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards and company policies
Requirements:
  • Significant fresh food retail knowledge and experience
  • Excellent leadership and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service
