
Sydney Trauma-Informed Mental Health Specialist

The Supporting Recovery program is a collaborative initiative between organizations to deliver trauma-informed mental health care services in Southwest Sydney. This program aims to support victim-survivors of Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) in their longer-term recovery.
Job Responsibilities- Provide trauma-informed mental health care services to victim-survivors of FDSV for up to 2 years
- Ensure services are welcoming, accessible, compassionate, person-centred, trauma-informed, culturally safe, and inclusive of all who present
- Deliver information and education that meets the needs of clients
- Participate in individual and group supervision
- Collaborate with colleagues as needed
- Attend professional development activities
- Maintain consistency with the Supporting Recovery Model of Care
- Tertiary degree qualification applicable to the role (e.g., psychology, counselling, social work, nursing, or similar)
- At least 2 years' experience working in a Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence setting
- Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., minimum level 2 ACA, PACFA provisional, APHRA, AASW mental health social worker accreditation)
- Previous experience working in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) contexts
- Established experience working with clients experiencing mental health challenges and FDSV (mandatory)
- Demonstrated high-level verbal and written communication skills
- Able to appraise and critically reflect on clinical work and participate in clinical supervision
- Current NSW Driver's Licence and WWCC
