Join Our Civil Construction Team as a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Diesel Mechanic

Harrison Barratt Group (HBG) is currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Western Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with heavy-duty machinery and further develop your skills in the civil construction industry.

As an apprentice, you will work closely with experienced mechanics to maintain, service, and repair a range of diesel-powered machinery and equipment used on civil construction sites. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical skills, work with a variety of diesel engines and heavy machinery, and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and heavy machinery.
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify potential mechanical issues.
  • Perform diagnostic testing on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with qualified mechanics to learn and develop technical skills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with health and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Currently in your 2nd or 3rd year of a Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship.
  • Experience working with diesel engines and heavy machinery (desirable).
  • A basic understanding of mechanical processes and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safety procedures and best practices.
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks.
  • Valid driver's license (preferred).
