Job Title: Asphalt Tanker Technician

This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work with specialized equipment essential to road construction operations.

As an Asphalt Tanker Technician, your primary focus will be on ensuring the reliable and safe operation of asphalt tankers used in road construction and surfacing projects.

The Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and repairing asphalt tankers, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and in line with compliance standards.
  • Conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical faults, and performing preventative maintenance on tank systems, including burners, pumps, valves, and hydraulic components.
  • Maintaining the integrity of heating systems that keep asphalt at optimal temperature during transport and unloading.
  • Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs, monitoring and calibrating temperature and pressure controls, and ensuring all work is completed in line with relevant safety, environmental, and transport compliance standards.
  • Working both in workshop settings and occasionally on-site, supporting operational readiness and minimizing downtime.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
  • Mechanical and hydraulic system knowledge.
  • Experience with burner systems and pipework.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Understanding of hazardous materials handling (especially hot asphalt).
  • Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance.
