About the Role

This position as a Healthcare Security Officer involves providing high-level security and safety services to various healthcare facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring the wellbeing and protection of patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols to deter and identify potential security threats.
  • Perform security screenings of individuals and their belongings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare personnel to maintain a secure setting.
  • Monitor patients with mental health concerns.
  • Serve as the first responder to incidents and emergencies.
  • Apply control and restraint techniques when necessary.
  • Document and report incidents accurately.
  • Maintain physical fitness for effective duty performance during 12-hour shifts.
Selection Criteria
  • Certificate II in Security Operations.
  • Minimum two years' experience in security or a related field, with proven experience in security operations.
  • Exceptional verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution, empathy, and de-escalation techniques.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Valid WA Security Officer licence.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Infection Control Training.
  • Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity.
  • Proficiency in self-defence techniques.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.
