Maternal Health Specialist

This position focuses on delivering culturally sensitive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. We are seeking a skilled Midwife to join our team in improving health outcomes for these populations.
Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate will provide comprehensive antenatal and postnatal care to Indigenous women, working collaboratively with other maternity service providers to ensure timely and appropriate care.
In addition, the Midwife will deliver specialist child health services, including scheduled screenings, immunizations, and health education to children and their families.

Requirements:
- Bachelor of Nursing and/or Midwifery qualifications;
- High-level oral and written communication skills, including ability to relate well to staff and stakeholders;
- Understanding of Primary Health Care principles and issues affecting Indigenous women and families in the perinatal period;
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and accuracy;
- Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to determine priorities effectively;
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team in an environment of competing priorities;
- WA C-Class drivers' licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience providing community-based antenatal and postnatal care within Australian National Competency standards for a Midwife;
- Current Immunisation provider certificate;
- Experience using electronic patient information systems to document patient care and generate reports;
- Valid Working with Children Check (WA);
- National Criminal History Check Certificate (Police Clearance - valid within 3 months);
- Current AHPRA registration;
- Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
Working Environment:
This role involves regular travel throughout the Goldfields region, including overnight stays, to provide services to Indigenous communities.
