Senior Payment Systems Architect

This position requires an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong background in Financial Services and expertise in card-related payments.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and govern end-to-end architecture for a new card management platform, ensuring alignment with target-state architecture defined by the customer.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and validate integration patterns—APIs, eventing, and batch for various upstream and downstream systems.
  • Drive architecture decisions establishing real-time and data streaming capabilities.
  • Provide technical leadership for multiple delivery workstreams, ensuring architecture governance and adherence to security, scalability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively assess vendor capabilities against customer needs and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate technical gaps.
  • Mentor development and integration teams; serve as liaison between business, technology, and third-party vendors.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience integrating with new SaaS platforms into existing architecture landscape through modern patterns using API and events-based patterns.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex card or payment platform migrations at scale, especially involving SaaS solutions.
  • Proven ability to translate product and compliance needs into scalable, secure architecture.
  • Knowledge of integration strategies: real-time APIs, event-driven architectures, and phased data migrations.
  • A self-starter who proactively remains current on industry standards with clear interest in understanding modern technology stacks including cloud, SaaS, API's, identity, security, micro-services, eventing streams etc.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and ability to influence cross-functional teams and vendors.
  • Experience in large scale migration and transformation programs of work.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple modern technologies, applications and architecture.
