Rehabilitation Support Specialist

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Support Specialist to join our team in Dubbo. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting recovery and positive change for individuals with mental illness, utilising evidence-based best practices.

The position is casual, working Monday and Thursday 8am to 6pm. We are looking for someone who can assist individuals to develop their capacity to live independently in the community and reach their potential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support clients to develop their own personal plans and work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals.
  • Collaborate with clients, community agencies, and support services to provide integrated and timely care.
  • Monitor and review client progress against their plan, providing up-to-date reports and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide active supports by promoting independent living, health management, and social connectedness.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certificate IV in Mental Health or Peer Work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of Mental Health supports, including the Recovery Framework and its underlying principles.
  • A current First Aid Certificate, including CPR.
  • A current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance.
