About the Role

CIMIC is seeking a Senior Mining Estimator to join our Corporate Technical Services team. Based at our Head Office in Brisbane, you will report directly to our Principal Estimator.

As our next Senior Mining Estimator, you will provide accurate and innovative estimating services for existing and new customers that drive operational and financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Regional General Managers and Bid Managers to ensure our estimating strategy aligns with client requirements.
  • Collaborate with Mine Planning Engineers and other technical disciplines to optimise the mine plan for recommended installed capacity.
  • Analyse actual fixed and variable costs for use in tendering pricing.
  • Apply market benchmarks to guide tender pricing.
  • Develop accurate tenders that are practically oriented, considering scope of works.

About You

You will maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. With a proactive approach and commitment to continuous improvement, you will significantly contribute to CIMIC's overall success, enhancing efficiency, reliability, and sustainability.

Your Background:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Accounting, or Surveying.
  • Prior experience working in large-scale open cut or underground mining operations.
  • High proficiency in computer-based estimating systems.
  • Strong commercial acumen with prior experience in mining services contracts or long-term project planning roles.
  • Understanding of mining principles, design concepts, and operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of mine operation regulatory and legislative requirements.
