Join Our Team as a Mental Health Specialist

 

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our mental health service, you will be responsible for providing high-level clinical care to consumers in groups and on an individual basis.

 

  • You will be responsible for developing and delivering innovative programs that provide comprehensive assessment and care planning monitoring consumer progress adjusting treatment accordingly for complex management.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication including verbal and written feedback to referring doctors.

  • Familiar and comply with legal and ethical responsibilities to consumers visitors and staff inclusive of maintaining confidentiality.

 

Successful applicants will have tertiary qualifications in psychology and current registration with the relevant professional body experience running groups and providing individual therapy using evidence-based approaches will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver innovative programs that provide high-level clinical care to consumers in groups and on an individual basis.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop care plans that monitor consumer progress and adjust treatment accordingly.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of consumer interactions and program activities.

  • Comply with relevant laws and regulations related to mental health services and maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and research findings.

 

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology or a related field.

  • Current registration with the relevant professional body e.g. Psychology Board of Australia.

  • Experience running groups and providing individual therapy using evidence-based approaches e.g. DBT Schema-Focused Therapy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality mental health services and promoting positive outcomes for consumers.

 

Benefits
  • Salary: $95,432 to $114,129 (pro-rata for part-time) plus 12% superannuation.

  • Fixed-term position for 12 months working 30 hours per week.
