Lead Clinician in Mental Health

This role presents a unique opportunity to lead a team of clinicians providing high-quality clinical services in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

We are seeking an experienced clinician with a degree qualification in Social Work and expertise in specialist social work interventions for mental health consumers. The successful candidate will possess a strong commitment to the recovery approach and demonstrate excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with consumers and carers.

The primary responsibilities of this position include conducting assessments and interventions for clients with mental health issues, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and supervising junior staff members. Additionally, this role offers opportunities for professional development and growth through mentorship programs and access to ongoing training and education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialist social work interventions to mental health consumers.
  • Promote recovery and service coordination.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Supervise Social Work students and Grade 1 Social Work staff.

Requirements:Essential Requirements:
  • Degree qualification in Social Work.
  • Compliance with AASW Continuing Professional Development Policy.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and ability to practice utilising the recovery approach.
  • Experience in providing Social Work assessments and interventions.
  • Knowledge of contemporary recovery principles and practices including research and evidence-based practice.
Desirable Requirements:
  • Experience in acute mental health.
  • Experience in family consultation.
  • Evidence of involvement in, and understanding of, principles of research and/or evaluation.
