Job Summary

We are seeking a Public Engagement Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for engaging directly with stakeholders and members of the public at the Cross River Rail Experience Centre and associated community engagement events.

The successful candidate will have experience in visitor service in the retail and/or hospitality sector, delivering programs, tours, activities, or special events and functions. They will also have excellent communication skills to interact with varying age groups and demographics.

The role involves setting up and dismantling equipment at external events, such as marquees, foldable tables and banners. The candidate will also assist with answering telephone enquiries, taking bookings and other administration duties.

About You
  • You will have the ability to hold and maintain a Blue Card and First Aid qualifications for the duration of employment.
  • You will possess experience in visitor service in the retail and/or hospitality sector, delivering programs, tours, activities, or special events and functions.
  • You will have a strong understanding of the work environment and actively participate in team goal setting.
  • You will be able to work independently on routine tasks while remaining adaptable and flexible to accommodate the changing needs of the team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with activities within the Experience Centre to ensure the work plan meets brand, vision, and strategic objectives.
  • Deliver public programs including guided tours, holiday activities, education programs and events and functions.
  • Oversee the operations and cleanliness of exhibition spaces, galleries, displays and public spaces.
  • Undertake tasks including data entry using computerised consultation management software, basic troubleshooting.
  • Set up and dismantle functions, workshops, children's and young people's activities and presentations.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment at external events, such as marquees, foldable tables and banners.
  • Assist with answering telephone enquiries, taking bookings and other administration duties.
