As a seasoned electrical engineer, you will oversee the delivery of electrical engineering work packages for large-scale projects. This includes managing resources, ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards, and providing hands-on project engineering. Your role will be critical in delivering fit-for-purpose solutions across the project's electrical components.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in electrical design leadership, including managing teams, establishing high-quality engineering systems, and coordinating resource allocation. They will also possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Safety is paramount in this role, and the successful candidate will maintain a safe and healthy workplace in compliance with relevant policies and standards. Additionally, they will complete required safety activities, including regular audits, to ensure the highest level of safety and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Leadership:

Design Engineering:

  • Develop electrical scopes of work
  • Perform electrical design tasks

Project Engineering:

  • Prepare technical specifications
  • Manage procurement processes
  • Support construction and commissioning phases

Risk and Stakeholder Management:

  • Identify and actively manage risks
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a tertiary qualification in engineering. Proven expertise in managing the engineering aspects of capital projects in heavy industry, and a demonstrated commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards.

Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, electrical design software, and MS Office Suite (particularly Excel and Project). Strong understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning processes, as well as familiarity with Australian and industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience in tendering, negotiating, and managing major equipment and construction contracts. Knowledge of heavy industrial manufacturing facilities and infrastructure, and competence in coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
