
Senior Regulatory Risk Specialist

This role is responsible for strengthening our compliance capability within the first line of defence. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal part in promoting a proactive compliance culture, identifying and mitigating regulatory risks, and ensuring adherence to internal standards and external obligations.
You will support Business Unit teams in embedding effective compliance controls, translating regulatory requirements into practical solutions, and uplifting the control environment. Working closely with Line 2, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders, you will provide compliance advice, contribute to risk-in-change assessments, and help drive remediation and monitoring activities.
This role offers the opportunity to collaborate across divisions, contribute to governance forums, and support the delivery of BOQ Group's Compliance Strategy. You will be instrumental in ensuring compliance is owned and managed at the source, helping the business stay ahead of regulatory expectations.
About You
You are a seasoned compliance professional with a strong background in regulatory risk, ideally gained within financial services. You bring a solid understanding of APRA, ASIC, and other regulatory bodies, and have experience designing and implementing compliance controls that are both effective and practical.
Your analytical mindset and attention to detail allow you to identify control gaps, assess compliance risks, and recommend solutions that improve business outcomes. You are confident in using compliance monitoring tools and systems, and your ability to simplify complex regulatory requirements makes you a valuable advisor.
You possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation. Your collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement make you a trusted member of the team.
Key Requirements- A bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field is essential.
- Professional certifications such as AACI or ACI 10980NAT will be highly regarded.
- You must have proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with compliance frameworks.
