About The Role

Our organisation is seeking a skilled regulatory professional to join our Compliance Team. As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will work closely with colleagues to resolve complex matters and drive continuous improvement in the sector.

Operating within our Regulating for Quality framework, you will apply contemporary, risk-based regulatory strategies to protect children, strengthen provider accountability, and foster community confidence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply relevant early childhood education and care legislation, standards, policies, and guidelines fairly and consistently when undertaking regulatory functions within the context of the Regulating for Quality Policy.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with early childhood education and care providers and services, government agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve regulatory objectives.
  • Manage the implementation of consistent, transparent, and robust regulatory practice in accordance with the Undertaking regulatory activities and making recommendations that support the Regulatory Authority to undertake its functions under the legislation and in accordance with the principles of good administrative decision making.
  • Provide recommendations informed by data, analysis of evidence, and accurate interpretation of the legislation.
  • Identify and respond to risk in the early childhood education and care sector through application of risk-based decision making in accordance with the legislation, exercising powers, gathering evidence, and escalating matters accordingly.
  • Implement operational policy initiatives drawing on feedback, evaluation, and data analysis to improve regulatory process and practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation of effective record keeping practices, data quality assurance, and modelling appropriate use of regulatory systems.
  • Provide quality advice and manage expectations of internal and external stakeholders, including early childhood education and care providers and services, as well as the general public, on different regulatory activities.
  • Prepare accurate, well-written communication on a range of matters relating to early childhood education and care regulation, including correspondence, reports, briefs, regulatory decisions, and recommendations.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Regulatory Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the implementation of regulatory activities and making recommendations to support the Regulatory Authority's functions under the legislation.
  • Providing advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on regulatory matters.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with early childhood education and care providers and services, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Identifying and responding to risk in the early childhood education and care sector.
