Job Title: Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to support our Energy Business Unit as a Design Manager.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and construction, with experience in managing design activities and supervising engineers, drafters, and external consultants. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of quality, safe, and compliant designs and associated engineering artefacts.

The Design Manager will engage and manage local design and engineering consultants/design houses to seek external expertise for various design and engineering elements related projects. They will also be the single point of contact on design and technical matters to the Project Leadership team and HQ Engineering Division and to external stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification of engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of engineering experience in gas power (OCGT/CCGT) engineering, construction industries.
  • Minimum 5 years of design management experience in gas power (OCGT/CCGT) engineering, construction industries.

As a Design Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on complex, multidisciplinary gas power projects, developing concept and tender designs that apply knowledge and past experience to ensure optimal project outcomes during the pre-contract phase.

You will also have the chance to engage with key internal and external stakeholders, including clients, design consultancies, subcontractors, joint venture partners, industry partners, and industry associations.

This role requires strong project requirements management, interface management, integration management using Systems Engineering principles. You should also have sound knowledge of technical engineering specifications and sound project management skills.
