Key Role in Delivering APRA Stress Testing Program

This position plays a pivotal part in delivering the stress testing program under APRA's guidance with a focus on the banking industry. The successful candidate will collaborate with other teams in the System Risk Branch and work closely with financial and non-financial risk specialists to gain a unique perspective across the finance sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver High-Quality Analysis and Reporting: Provide detailed analysis and reporting of APRA stress testing outcomes, identifying actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Engage with Industry: Collaborate with industry experts in designing, processing, and delivering stress test results.
  • Prepare Insightful Reports: Develop comprehensive reports detailing stress testing insights for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build Relationships: Establish and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders across APRA, including supervisors and risk specialists.
  • Stay Up-to-Date: Maintain an updated knowledge base of emerging risks that may impact the financial system.
  • Provide Expertise: Offer subject matter expertise on stress testing to inform APRA's core functions.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate stress testing plans and outcomes to various stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Experience in Stress Testing: Demonstrated experience in stress testing methodology and processes.
  • Knowledge of APRA Framework: Working knowledge of APRA's prudential framework across regulated industries and associated financial and non-financial risks.
  • Data Analysis Skills: Strong data and technical analysis capabilities, including financial analysis and modeling.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to drive and manage projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated ability in building, engaging, and communicating effectively with stakeholders within and outside APRA.
  • Report Writing and Presentation: Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
