Support Specialist for Complex Neurodevelopmental Disorders

Our service is seeking a dedicated Support Specialist to join our team of specialists. In this role, you will work closely with children and young people undergoing diagnostic assessments for autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and guidance throughout the assessment process.
The ideal candidate will possess personal lived experience of secondary mental health services, recovery journey or supporting someone with mental health/neurodiversity/learning disability. You will have a good level of secondary education and a commitment to complete the CNTW Peer Supporter Educational Programme.
Key qualifications for this role include:
- Completion of Peer Support Specialist Training or other similar peer support training.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and strength-based/person-led practice.
As a Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing post-diagnostic support and advice to families and young people. You will also be responsible for identifying reasonable adjustments needed during the assessment process.
