Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing tools, providing training, coaching, and influencing colleagues to empower them to take responsibility for their own and others safety.

The Health and Safety Specialist will work closely with the Health and Safety Manager to deliver on-site health, safety, and environmental standards and maintain and continuously improve the safety performance and safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the implementation of the Health and Safety Management System.
  • Provide day-to-day health and safety support for operations.
  • Manage incident response, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Lead quarterly review of site compliance to Global Health and Safety Critical Standards.
  • Lead internal and regulatory environmental reporting requirements.
  • Assist with completing risk assessments and supporting the risk management process.
  • Lead the Health and Safety Committee as well as the Emergency Control Organisation.
  • Ensure contractor compliance to Mars Contractor Management Program.
  • Deliver training as specified in the Health and Safety Training Plan.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree qualifications or equivalent experience and skills.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent experience and skills (preferred).
  • 2-3 years' experience in a health and safety role.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector (preferred).
  • Experience in developing risk assessments, procedures, and other health and safety-related documents.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
