Job Title: Environmental Conservation Specialist

The Parramatta River Catchment Group (PRCG) is seeking a skilled Environmental Conservation Specialist to join their team. As the Riverkeeper, you will be responsible for implementing projects that promote environmental conservation and community engagement in the Parramatta River and its foreshores.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about protecting the environment. If you have a strong background in natural resource management, community engagement, and behavior change programs, we encourage you to apply.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, businesses, and government agencies.
  • Develop and implement projects that promote environmental conservation and community engagement.
  • Collaborate with the PRCG Coordinator to undertake projects that remediate and maintain the health of the Parramatta River and its foreshores.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Substantial experience in natural resource management, community engagement, and behavior change programs.
  • Skills:
  • Sound understanding of natural resource management issues in the region and empathy with the local community.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including competence in using software applications and social media platforms.
