Job Title

Australia Information Technology Group Functions Data Centre Operations Technician role involves ensuring the operational stability and security of our technology systems.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic team, contributing to the reliability and integrity of our data centre operations.

About the Role

You will be working in the Data Centre Operations team, responsible for maintaining the stability and integrity of our key technology facilities.

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining IT hardware placement and provisioning
  • Inventory accuracy of all IT hardware
  • Handling IMAC-D, Change and Incident requests
  • Connectivity patching and cabling oversight
  • Electronic media handling (tape/disk) audit reconciliation
  • Asset recovery re-use & eWaste management
  • Store/stock management receipting and accepting goods
Key Skills

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Good knowledge of data centre environments including mechanical & electrical, data cabling, security protocols and IT hardware
  • Previous experience working in complex infrastructure facilities and/or businesses
  • Experience with workflow & inventory tools and Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of common power and network cabling used in data centre environments
  • Secure digital media handling procedures and data protection concepts
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service frameworks
