Correctional Officer - Employment Opportunity

We are seeking highly skilled Correctional Officers to join our correctional team in various locations across NSW.

About the Job
  • Safeguard and supervise inmates in the court or cell complex, as well as during transportation.
  • Effectively manage conflict situations, including those involving stressed or drug-affected inmates.
  • Conduct thorough security checks and inmate searches.
  • Administer custody-related tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain a collaborative work environment.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations, including safely handling firearms.
Key Requirements
  • Meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years old.
  • Possess a current driver's license with no restrictions.
  • Hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Be willing to work on an average of 2-3 days per week (casual and part-time).
  • Adhere to irregular shift patterns from 3-6 hours per shift, Monday to Friday (Court only), and 8 hours per shift, Monday to Sunday (Cell or Transport).
  • Be available for on-call contact after 5 pm the day before (casual only).
  • Successfully complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
  • Meet the medical standards required for a Correctional Officer and maintain a reasonable level of fitness.
  • Present themselves without visible inappropriate or offensive tattoos.
