About the role

We're looking for a front-line leader to join our Equipment Care Team in Operation Area 2 - Calcination at our Wagerup Refinery. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the success of work execution and people engagement. Your schedule will include Monday to Friday with a flexible day off once every four weeks.

You will lead a small crew of operators responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the area and equipment within it. In this leadership position, you will contribute to and be responsible for:

• Coaching and mentoring our personnel to reach their full potential
• Developing and upholding high standards of process and production practices
• Guiding the team to achieve department goals and guiding the execution of work in all areas of the business
• Implementing and sustaining business system improvements, assisting team members to implement suggestion scheme ideas, and the auditing of standardised work practices

As a key support person, you will utilise your problem-solving skills, and our provided tools and systems, to assist with production and interpersonal issues.

About you

To be successful in this role, we're looking for someone with:

• A strong processing background, preferably working in an alumina/refining processing plant or mining/industrial environment
• Proven use of initiative and self-motivation to excel in a work environment with minimal supervision
• Highly developed team leadership, communication skills and experience in implementing and leading change initiatives
• The ability to meet challenges and work collaboratively with a diverse group to develop and implement strategies across our workgroups
• A commitment to driving and upholding a positive safety culture, awareness of the operating environment
• Proficiency in using computer software and Microsoft Office
