Key Role:

We are seeking a skilled professional to manage engineering operations and lead a team in a dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience in aviation operations or engineering, with strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop direct reports.

They will be responsible for ensuring schedule integrity, managing unplanned maintenance, and providing operational leadership to their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-of-ops engineering operations to support flight schedules
  • Provide leadership within the Maintenance Operations Centre (MOC) and the Jetstar Operations Control Centre (JOCC)
  • Manage planned and unplanned maintenance, balancing commercial, customer, and operational impacts
  • Act as the operational engineering point of contact and escalation point for activities within engineering
  • Lead a team responsible for effective communication flow between those within and external to engineering

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an aviation operations or engineering environment
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing, coaching, and mentoring a team
  • Aviation industry experience essential
  • Ability to demonstrate a thick skin in dealing with difficult situations while thriving in a fast-paced environment
  • Strength in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid internal and external stakeholder management skills
